Problem background I recently built multiple subnets for my data center. And I connected two interfaces of a Linux device to two subnets at the same time. When I run ifconfig , below networks are shown: Only the Green network has Internet access. The blue network is pure internal...
Recently I just bought a Thrustmaster TCA airbus throttle. You can buy it here. I want to use this throttle to control the fan speed of the server in my data center. <iframe height="600px" src="https://anduins site.player.aiur.site/pxl 20221121 015946930 265.mp4" </iframe Super e...
This article provides an in-depth analysis of the significant differences in development models and user experience across three major software categories: internet software, enterprise software, and open-source software. Internet software, developed by major tech companies, leverages substantial investment to deliver exceptional performance, aesthetically pleasing interfaces, and smooth interactions. Although it appears free, it often trades convenience for advertising exposure and user privacy, making it ideal for users who prioritize an optimal user experience. Enterprise software is designed for commercial sales, offering robust features and strong extensibility; however, it often suffers from performance bottlenecks, redundant interactions, and unstable updates, making it best suited for internal collaboration scenarios. Open-source software, driven by community contributions, is renowned for its high code quality, orthogonal design, superior performance, and privacy and security. However, it lacks product-level guidance, features a steep learning curve, and requires users to manage their own maintenance. Understanding these characteristics helps users make more informed decisions when selecting software based on their specific needs regarding performance, ease of use, cost, and privacy, thereby avoiding the usability pain points associated with specific design patterns.
Although Windows 11 features a refreshed interface, it still retains a substantial amount of legacy functionality internally. This article shares how to "dig up" classic components offline: you can invoke the classic file explorer via the Control Panel; using Internet Options can unexpectedly open the deprecated IE browser; running specific Shell commands can restore classic theme settings, which then allows access to screen saver configuration; a PowerShell script can enable the classic photo viewer; turning off the new Notepad in App Execution Aliases allows you to use the classic version; and executing the `taskmgr /d` command launches the classic Task Manager. These techniques highlight the fun aspects of the legacy code buried deep within the Windows system, allowing you to uncover numerous ancient features without needing to install anything online, reflecting a unique experience where old and new technologies coexist.
Know the context: You can run the following SQL to check the current status of your database: bash mysql select from mysql.user; mysql select from mysql.db; For all Ensure firewall allows 3306 port: bash sudo ufw allow 3306 Allow MySQL to bind to all ports: bash sudo vim /etc/mys...
Once, because of my mistake, I inflated a 2TB Thin Provisioning disk. So the space it takes up has skyrocketed from 10GB to 2TB. In order to roll back this thing, I had to do these things: First delete all snapshots. And consolidate if possible. Then enable SSH on your host: Then...
This post will tell you how to make the partition extend to full disk after resizing the disk. First, check current usage: bash sudo df Th We will resize sdb1 . bash sudo fdisk /dev/sdb n – Create partition p – print partition table g reset as GPT partition table d – delete a par...
On October 4, 2022, Aiursoft Nextcloud experienced a severe incident that resulted in a two-hour service interruption and partial data loss. The root cause was the accidental loss of the NFS backup disk mount following the storage and compute separation migration. This caused the backup task to write large amounts of data to the system disk, instantly filling up the 64GB system disk, which led to system process paralysis and failed restarts. During the investigation, by mounting the hard drive to another server for analysis, it was discovered that system disk space was being abnormally occupied. It was ultimately confirmed that the backup script had erroneously written data to the local path when the mount failed. This incident revealed potential risks in the backup mechanism when configuration errors occur, as well as the lack of monitoring for mount point status. Improvement measures include enforcing mount status verification before backups, establishing real-time alert mechanisms for disk remaining space and mount status, and optimizing the backup script to prevent accidental writes to the local disk, thereby enhancing system stability and data security.
This article provides a detailed walkthrough of building a high-performance NFS storage server and integrating it into an ESXi environment. First, a GPT partition is created using `fdisk`, formatted with `mkfs.ext4`, and the partition UUID is obtained. Next, the `/etc/fstab` file is edited to configure persistent mount points, ensuring automatic mounting after system reboots. Subsequently, `nfs-kernel-server` is installed, `/etc/exports` is configured to expose shared paths with access restricted to specific subnets, and the firewall is opened on port 2049. For network configuration, a fiber-optic direct connection approach is adopted to isolate storage traffic and enhance performance. Multiple fiber-optic ports are bridged into an independent subnet using `bridge-utils`, `isc-dhcp-server` is deployed to provide dynamic IP allocation for this storage network, and 9000-byte jumbo frames are enabled to optimize transmission efficiency. Additionally, Cockpit and its navigator plugin are installed to provide a web-based server status monitoring interface. Finally, on the ESXi side, a dedicated storage virtual switch and VMkernel adapter are created, and an NFS storage mapping is added in vCenter. The article recommends using CrystalDiskBench for performance benchmarking to verify a transfer speed of approximately 1200 MB/s under a 10 Gbps network, ensuring the storage system meets the expected high-performance standards.
